NC Celebrity Interview: Alex Weber

As NervousCircle grows in popularity from an obscure retarded website, to an obscure, somewhat less retarded website, we are hoping we can parlay that growth into a wider following among celebrities and professional athletes. Luckily, a good friend of ours here at the Circle happens to be aspiring actor Alex Weber. Not only is Weber an alum of the same high school attended by myself, Tom and MGM, but he is also a card carrying UPenn Quaker, a badge I also wear with both pride and disgust. Alex has appeared in a few commercials, some viral videos, and of course an episode of Gossip Girl. He also has an upcoming role in the lacrosse movie Crooked Arrows, which he described as "Mighty Ducks with high school lacrosse." Sounds pretty awesome to me; cast Jennifer Aniston as the lonely single mom and you can pre-order me the director's cut DVD.

We’ve known Alex for a long time, and despite getting a lot of shit from a lot of people, the dude used to rip twine and smash box, so although he hasn’t had his “big break yet,” his level of bro-ness certainly qualifies him for our first ever Celebrity Interview. Before we get into the interview, let’s take a look at some of Weber’s early work. He manages to cut the intense, edge of your seat drama with boyish good looks and the charm of a Little Miss America pageant winner. Click here and watch the "Bad Day" video starring Weber. Below is a new web series he is starring in:

-Alex, thanks for being here. I'm sure you're excited to be the first ever NervousCircle Celebrity interview. Never acted in high school or college, what made you get into it?
Fall of my senior year, I took the most basic acting course we had at Penn. It was going well, so I talked with the teacher and started to audition for some independent films. From there, I got into our advanced acting class in the spring and was taken on by an agency. I did a few commercials while being in Philly and then in NYC this summer before heading out to LA.

-What gets you more tail; being a lacrosse player, being an actor, or just generally being adorable?
Saying I know Spaniard and Tom usually does the trick. It's tough bringing the lax wand into a bar - I've tried.

-Does your dad know you’re gay?
If you meant to say The Tits, then yes, and so do you.

-What’s the most bro drinking game? Beverage of choice?
Civil War - It's beer pong on HGH.
Drink of choice: Jameson or Smithwick's

-Compare yourself to an accomplished actor?
I'm a big fan of Ryan Reynolds and Josh Duhamel. Reynolds has been great in comedies and drama/action, which is a career I'd love to have. He's also married to Scarlett Johansson, not a bad looking girl.

-Jersey Shore: How'd you miss out on that gig?
Tanning booth was broken that week.

-Is LA just like it seems in Entourage?
I've gone out to a few parties and clubs that've been pretty unreal, but there's also a lot of dive bars and chill places too. Just depends on what you're looking for I guess.

-Number one chick on your list right now?
Carrie Underwood, anthem before the Super Bowl sealed that one.

-Coolest celeb experience (ie any celeb hook-ups)?
I was out at this bar with a few guys who had gotten in a fight a few weeks earlier with some other dudes there. They were all running their mouths, until the rest of their group came. Turns out it's Chuck Liddell and Co. Not trying to fight the Iceman.

-You were in an episode of Gossip Girl; how hot is Blake Lively?
Smokeshow. Leighton Meester's a good looking girl as well.

-Describe your style? Give us some of your favorite gear
Nike Dunks and Nixon watches. I'd also like to give a plug to Lacrosse & Co., which produce shirts that are both stylish and comfortable - send me some free shirts.

-On a desert island, what three things you bringing?
Les Stroud, who is more badass than Bear Grylls, says all you need is a pocket knife and a harmonica. So my third thing would be Les Stroud.

-Tiger Woods; still a total G, or has he lost his luster?
Michael Jackson still made "Thriller" and Tiger Woods is one of the best golfers of all time. Keep your private life private, and get back on the course.

-What was your favorite bro event at Penn?
I'd have to say St. Pirate's Day which was created by Spaniard and Co.

-Who wins in a fight; you or the dude from Twilight?
I'm not lifting weights for my health.

-The economy; thoughts?
I didn't exactly ace the finance classes at Penn.

Thanks again to Alex for being the inaugural Celebrity Interview.

Yeah, but didn't Andy Milonakis go to your high school as well?
